QS3 Frameset $550.00
by Michael Boyle Added May 09, 2010
Just finished up my QS3 with Sram Force group, Easton EC90 bar, Bontrager RXL wheels (very cool with the white spokes and the black/white frame), Selle Italia saddle and the Pedalforce seat post. 7.3 Kilos WITH the Shimano A520 pedals-- in a 62cm size! They said the frame weighed 1140gr and that's exactly what it did weigh. The finish is flawless and tasteful and the build was uneventful. I've got a couple hundred Kms on the bike now, both on the flat and up the nearby Doi Suthep mountain (1000m up in 16Km and not even a big climb here in N.Thailand!) The handling is rock solid-- the best no hands bike I own-- with medium quick, but predictable steering as you would expect from this geometry. The ride is first class carbon all the way and, though I am no powerhouse, the BB30 is noticeably stiffer than my Trek 5200. My bottom line is I feel like I just bought a 5-6000 dollar bike for less than 3.
BTW, I had some very unusual delivery requests and Pedalforce was responsive and co-operative throughout--really outstanding service and product. I wish I could think of something snarky to say so I didn't sound like a shill, but there you have it!
